Eba Memo On Borates Classification

The European Borates Association has issued a memeo regarding the classification of Borates, specifically Sodium Borates, Boric Acid and Boric Oxide. This follows the publication of the 1st Adaptation to Technical Progress (ATP) amending Annex VI of the CLP Regulation. This now lists disodium tetraborates, boric acid and diboron trioxide as Toxic to Reproduction (category 1b). Entering into force on 25 September 2009, these changes need to be implemented by 1 December 2010. Included in the attachment, which is available by contacting [email protected], is an appendix listing the specific concentration limits set for borates.
