Durability Of Alkali Resistant Glass Fibres During The Autoclaving Process Of Glass-Reinforced Calcium Silicate

For the purpose of improving the durability of alkali resistant glass fibres during the autoclaving process of glass-reinforced calcium silicate (GRCS) insulation boards, Ti02 was introduced into the Si02-Zr02-Ca0-Na20 glass, replacing Na20 stepwise. The mechanical properties of GRCS materials were improved by increasing Ti02 content of glass fibres used for reinforcement. The thickness and composition of the surface layers formed on autoclaved glass fibres in a Portland cement aqueous phase solution were analysed by electronprobe microscopy.
