The Draining Of Noble Metals In Vitrified Nuclear Waste By A Melter With A Sloping Floor

An electric melter has been developed to vitrify the high level waste from the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel. To ensure noble metals would be drained with the rest of the waste , two small-scale melters were constructed for evaluation, that with a 45 degree sloping floor proving effective for this purpose.
