Domestic Glass Industry Development

The domestic glass industry in China is a capital-and technology-intensive sector and also a labour-intensive one. This sector realised eye-catching achievements in the country's Eleventh Five Year Plan period (2006-2010) where, during this period, the production of daily use glass and glass containers increased annually by 18% on average and the total industrial output had an annual increase of 25.5%. This article assesses the development of China's domestic and hollow glass industries.
