The Dissolution Of Na2O-Mgo-Cao-Sio2 Glass In Aqueous Hf Solutions

Solutions including nitric, hydrochloric and sulphuric acids were chosen and the temperatures were varied from 25 to 60C. The dissolution rate was found to increase with higher HF concentration, higher strong acid concentrations and higher temperatures. Models to describe the relation between dissolution rate and H+ concentration are discussed.
