Discovery Of New Metastable Tellurite-Based Glass-Ceramics And Mechanism Of Second Harmonic Generation (In Japanese)

Transparent tellurite-based glass-ceramics showing second harmonic generation (SHG) have been successfully prepared for the first time, and the possibility as new optical functional materials has been discussed. The crystal structure of the phase showing SHG in the glass-ceramics of 15K20-15Nb205-70 Te02 is basically cube. The cubic phase, however, is slightly distorted from a perfect cubic symmetry, leading to the generation of second harmonicity.
