Diagnosis And Treatment Of Bubbles In Glass Production Using A Numerical Simulator

The process to remove bubbles from molten glass is regarded as one of the most important in glass melting technology. In this paper the authors propose a numerical simulator to evaluate three factors that influence bubble removal: design of the glass melting furnace, composition and batch materials including refining agents, and the operating conditions of the furnace, with the aim of evaluating how useful information can be obtained by applying the simulation technique to solve the bubble problem encoutered in a real TV glass furnace.
