Developments In Refractory Metals And Ods Superalloys

Molybdenum is used successfully in the hot regions of glass melting furnaces for melting electrodes, wall reinforcements, stirrers and outflow nozzles. Oxidation-protective coatings (Sibor and Nicrom coatings), new molybdenum alloys (Mo%% Zr02) and oxidation-resistant superalloys (PM2000 and PM1000) have been developed which give extended life, and improved process stability and glass quality.
