Development Of A Composition Suitable For The Production Of Alkali-Resistant Glass Fibres With A Low Fibrising Temperature

The alkali resistance, liquidus temperature and viscosity of the CaO-BaO-MgO-Na2O-ZrO2-SiO2 system are measured over a range of compositions. Using regression analysis, two mixed kinds of polynomial equation are proposed from which the most suitable glass composition for the fabrication of alkali resistant glass fibres is determined.
