Determination Of Optimum Parameters For Annealing Technical Hollow Glassware

Optimum annealing instructions are available for hollow glass ware if tolerances permissible for the stress birefringence are observed at a minimum cooling time. From results of cooling tests made with tubes of Rasotherm type general aspects are derived for optimising the three decisive cooling parameters depending on each other; constant temperature constant time and cooling rate. Suitable cooling tests of the object to be cooled are indispensable in view of an accurate determination of all time determining cooling parameters.
