Designing A Handling System For High Speed Lines

In the last decade, the speed of all glassmaking machines has almost doubled, with present production rates reaching up to 600/bottles/min. As a result, the hot end handling system has had to improve, expecially to cope with the lighter weight containers now being produced. German engineering company, Pennekamp, looks here at the different components of the system and how they should be designed to meet the industry's current and future needs.
