Denox Installation Success For Swiss Container Plant

At the end of 1992, ABB retrofitted a glass melting plant in Switzerland with a denox facility to reduce the nitrogen oxide emissions in the flue gases. The facility, which injects ammonia directly into the hot gases of the recuperators, has lowered NOx emissions during full-load operation by 70%. Ammonia consumption and ammonia slip have also been reduced.
