Data Collection Helps Meet Emissions Obligations

British Glass and the web development company NetConstruct have revolutionised the way data is collected from glassmakers and collated. This initiative will support industry action to increase further energy efficiency and to cut emissions of greenhouse gases. The new web-based system replaces a largely manual one and will allow member companies to input data through the website. The captured data can be converted more easily into management information. Inbuilt tolerance and continuity checking provides real-time validation of the data input by member firms, thus reducing the risk of human error. Gordon Watts, CC manager says: "This new online data capture system will not only revolutionise how we collect and collate data as part of our climate change agreement but will also provide our members with huge benefits in convenience and efficiency".
