Darby Glass is looking to restructure its Scunthorpe manufacturing site, which employs around 110 people. Darby has 5 sites in the UK & supplies processed/insulated glass units for commercial & domestic applications. In a statement, the company said: "The market has become increasingly competitive over the past few years, & the indications are that these conditions will prevail for some time. "In order to ensure improved business performance & align its cost base to these conditions, Darby Glass has announced a proposal to restructure its Scunthorpe manufacturing site. "This proposed restructure would result in around 40 redundancies across all levels at the site." The company said it would enter into a 'full & meaningful consultation process' with all employees & their trade union representatives, which should take at least 30 days to complete.
