As a swing producer of phosphate fertilisers, the USA has borne the brunt of the global phosphates downturn with significant production curtailments. In this article, the author looks at how in late 2002/2003 diammonium phosphate (DAP) prices started to rally in what is hoped to be a prolonged multi-year recovery.
