[Czech] Sklarna - Visitors Boost Income

Czech glass company Sklarna a Minipivovar Novosad & Syn (Harachov), which makes luxury and utility glassware and chandeliers, generated sales of CZK 75M in 2006. It supplements the income from product sales by charging visitors to see the glassmaking process. In 2006, the plant welcomed 30,000 visitors who contributed 20% of total revenue for the year. To further boost the leisure side of its business, the company is building a beer spa centre at its plant in Harrachov. The spa centre should be commissioned in July 2007. The company built a mini-brewery near the glass plant five years ago which produces natural non-filtered and non-pasteurized beer containing several natural and health-giving substances.
