Like many other industries, the glass industry of the Czech Republic has been badly hit by the current economic crisis. In this article the author details the recent demise of Crystalex Novy Bor and outlines prospects for the flat and container glass markets, including the two dominant players in the container sector in the Czech Republic, O-I and Vetropack.
