[Czech Republic] Asahi To Build New Float Glass Furnace

Asahi Glass Co are building a new float glass furnace at its Glaverbel Czech A.S. subsidiary in the Czech Republic to serve rapidly growing demand for float glass from Central Europe, which is forecast to grow at 7-8%/pa. The company will invest around EUR 100M to establish a third furnace with a capacity of 700/tpd. Construction of the new furnace is scheduled to begin from the end of 2006 & production will start around the beginning of 2008.
