Recycled surfaces manufacturing company Curava started to manufacture its recycled countertop surfaces in response to the growing demand in the US for products containing recycled & repurposed materials. Curava countertops combine approximately 70% recycled glass, seashells & clay pottery fragments with a cement binder to offer a beautiful, affordable, eco-friendly surfacing product. Thanks to the company's knowledge of stone fabrication, it has created a new product that maximizes the amount of recycled material while adding protective surface elements. The material can be used as countertops, fireplace surrounds, outdoor kitchens, bathroom vanities, shower & tub surrounds, tabletops & furniture. The recycled materials are sourced from both post-consumer (beer & wine bottles, demolition, jars, window glass) & post-industrial sources (pottery factories). Slabs are available & customized for each application from local distributors. The standard Curava collection offers 8 colour options & 12 additional options in the 'Splendid Collection' & 12 final options in the 'Limited Collection' (available for large commercial projects only). Curava may contribute toward earning LEED Materials & Resources credits 4.1, 4.2, Indoor Env Quality credit 4.1 (contains no VOCs) & an Innovation in Design credit (recycled content greater than 30% post-consumer). Curava is certified by NSF Int & a member of the US Green Building Council.
