Crystallization Kinetics Of A Lithia-Silica Glass: Effect Of Sample Characteristics And Thermal Analysis Measurement Techniques

The crystallisation kinetics of a 40Li2O.6oSiO2 (mol%) glass were studied using both isothermal and non-isothermal DSC techniques as a function of particle size of the glass powder, crucible material, furnace atmosphere, and surface pretreatment of the glass powder with deionised water, HCL, or HF.
