Crystallisation And Sintering Of Frits Obtained From Silicate Wastes

The processing of glass ceramics and glass ceramic matrix composites from wastes using powder methods, together with their structure and properties, are reviewed. A comprehensive survey of all the publications in this area is not given but rather the main features are illustrated using a glass ceramic known as Silceram, which is based on slag from steelmaking, as an exemplar.
