The Czech Republic's Crystalex group is looking to reorganise the activities of the subsidiary companies that make up the Prague-based holding. Petr Gonda is the executive tasked with leading the changes at Crystalex, whose companies have a combined workforce of close to 7000. The move towards centralised management does not necessarily mean changes in the commercial policy, said spokesman Petr Tomisek. "We do not want to make changes that are detrimental to commercial relationships", he said. Although the group, whose turnover is around EUR 164M, is focused on foreign sales, for the last decade it has faced a recession in the decorative crystal market. Novy Bor, Sklarny Bohemia & Sklo Bohemia, technical crystal producer Sklarny Kavalier, all belong to the group, as does Bohemia Crystalex Trading.
