Cristobalite Phase Formation In Glass/Ceramic Composites

The effect of several different aluminium-containing ceramic additions to borosilicate glass on suppressing cristobalite precipitation has been examined. The results showed that mullite or aluminum nitride suppresses cristobalite formation more effectively than alumina or spinel.
