Covering The Bases - Ppg'S Coatings Business Under The Spotlight

The coatings business of PPG Industries has grown rapidly in recent years through a number of strategic acquisitions. These were undertaken to provide the company with a leading presence in all the market segments it serves, and to be able to meet its customers' requirements. In certain sectors, such as automotive OEM (original equipment manufacturers), this calls for an increasingly globalised approach. In other markets such as architectural coatings the approach has focused on building regional strength. In this paper the vice president, Charles Bunch, talks to Industrial Minerals about PPG's coatings businesses.
