On August 31, the trial court in California formally approved the Proposition 65 settlement between a group of manufactures and retailers and the plaintiff regarding allegations that consumers are exposed to lead from the outside surface of drinkware. No objections to the tentative settlement were filed by any parties, and the court did not suggest any alterations to the settlement which is now binding on the parties involved. SGCD has published a summary of the settlement which includes details of possible warnings and suggested warning language as well as possible courses of conduct for companies that are not a party to the agreement.
