Correlations Between Structure And Properties In New Glasses Containing Zro2

For the first time, the existence of amorphous materials belonging to CaO-ZrO2-SiO2 ternary system, has been experimentally proved. The three oxides have been chosen for their known capability to improve chemical resistance, refraction index and mechanical properties as well. As far as glass structure is concerned, both zirconia and lime have peculiar behaviour in silicates, hence the present compositions have been deeply investigated to describe the role of these two oxides.
