Corning'S Gorilla Boost

A 68% rise in Gorilla Glass sales helped Corning Incorporated to post record Q4 results. The company's Q4 total sales were US $2.15BN - a 14% year-over-year increase and the largest quarterly sales in its history. The quarter performance was ignited by consumer sales of hand-held and IT devices containing Corning Gorilla Glass, which totalled US $399M. A decline of 6% was seen in the Environmental Technologies segment, with sales of US $219M; the result of reduced demand for light-duty and heavy-duty diesel products. In the Life Sciences sector, Q4 sales were US $185M, a 29% increase year-over-year.
