Coors & Molson Close Deal - New Brewing Company

Shareholders have recently voted to close the deal that merges the Coors brewing company with Montreal-based Molson, ending 132 years of independence for Coors. The combined company, Molson Coors Brewing Co, will become the world's fifth largest brewer with $6BN sales. Molson shareholders approved the deal on 28 January. With the beer industry consolidating on an international scale, Coors executives said they saw this merger as a strategic move to remain viable. (whole item)
