Cooperation Launches Thin Film Solar Module Systems

Bystronic Glass & Jenoptik Automatisierungstechnik have announced a joint venture agreement to produce thin film solar modules, culminating with the launch of the first'laser product line. The new machine combines the processes of laser edge deletion and laser glass cutting. Thermal Laser Separation (TLS), in the production of thin film photovoltaic modules. "Our customers now can install a machine which deletes glass edges without dust or damage at a hitherto unknown quality," said Richard Jakob, CEO of Bystronic Glass Group. "The laser glass cutting process then produces microcrack-free edges with increased bending strength."
