Cooling The Ribbon In The Uninsulated Part Of A Float Glass Lehr

Control of the annealing process requires accurate assessment of the effect of any changes to the environment or the process. This paper deals with the cooling of the glass ribbon in the final, uninsulated sections of the lehr. The influence of some parameters on the performance of these zones is shown to depend on relatively simple formulae derived from a calculated cooling curve.
