[Cookware] Seeing Is Believing

Cooking was given an extra boost at the beginning of the 20th century with the invention of glass ovenware. Pyrex, as it was (and is) known, was first made and commercialised by Corning. It has high resistance to heat, cracking and scratching, while being easier to clean and, last but not least, allows you to watch food cooking. This article looks at the history of this remarkable material, including today's ranges, which have expanded to include ceramics ovenware, non-stick bakeware, microwave cookware and stainless steel cookware.
