Traditional lubrication of conveyors in a bottling hall requires the use of significant quantities of water, a factor at odds with today's ecological and conservation principles. An in-depth study of the fundamental mechanisms that determine the behaviour of a drop of lubricating solution was needed to asnwer the question "Why does soap slide?"
