Continuous Flow Dilution Equation As A Tool In Judging And Controlling Changes In Glass From A Continuous Glassmelting Furnace

The simple exponential equation, first proposed by W M Hampton, accurately represents the data for a rate of change of glass in a continuous glassmelting furnace. A tabulation, useful in simplifying calculations, is presented in this paper and a procedure is outlined for making accelerated colour changes, and data from an actual change presented.
