Content Of Aluminium And Some Minerals In Beer (In Bulgarian)

Concn. of Al, Ca, Mg, Fe and Cu were determined in 15 beer samples packaged in glass, polyester or metal containers and stored in the refrigerator for 6 months. All concncentrates were influenced by packaging material migration and increased in metal-packaged samples by an average of 19% to give average concentration of 0.075 mg Al/ml beer by the end of storage. Al concentrates in beer in polyester and glass containers remained relatively stable. Concentrates of Al and other minerals investigated were well within food safety limits. Moderate beer consumption (0.5 l/day) was estimated to provide between 8 and 28% of daily Mg requirements.
