Container Coatings

Cardinal Glass Coatings, manufactures Superglaze MBTC, a high purity butyltin trichloride intended for use as a hot-end coating material in the glass container industry. According to the US-based company, the resulting tin oxide surface coating provides an excellent base for cold-end coating materials, also produced by Cardinal. The patented stabiliser contained in Superglaze inhibits crystal formation in humid conditions. Cardinal says it has been developing its range of vapour deposition hoods used to apply Superglaze for over 15 years. The design is based on safety, coating quality, efficiency ad ease of use while the stainless steel construction ensures durability and low maintenance levels. In 1999, the company introduced the twin tunnel dual hot-end coating hood, specially designed for high output beer & soft drink lines with double conveyor systems.
