Construction Materials Based On Melts Of The Diopside-Phlogopite System

The crystallisation properties and viscosity of glasses derived from diopside rocks were determined. It was shown that crystallisation depends on the calcium/magnesium ratio in the composition. Diopside rocks with up to 20% phlogopite originally, or with soda additions, can be used to make mosaics, granulated glass and glass wool.
