Constellation To Build Largest Bonded Warehouse In Europe

Constellation Europe is to spend "tens of millions" of pounds on a new packaging and warehousing unit in the West Country that will be the biggest of its kind in Europe. The new structure will be close to its existing distributions entry in Avonmouth near Bristol and will increase its warehousing capacity by 80,000 pallets - equivalent to 53M/bottles. Constellation's president, Troy Christensen said: "In addition to delivering world-class facilities, it will mean a significant net increase of new employees in the South West, where many of our existing operations are based." The site, which is expected to be open by 2009, is 3 times bigger than the existing site, and will also include new office facilities to replace its current offices in Whitchurch, Bristol.
