Considerations In Modern Cold End Line Control

This paper examines the function of the cold end line control panel which provides the necessary power and protection for all electrical services required by the cold end line. Typically, there will be one panel per production line irrespective of the actual number of inspection lines at the cold end. The incorporation into the panel of a programmable logic controller (PLC), inverter motor speed controllers and an intelligent operator interface enables easy implementation of a line control strategy. The global objective of such a strategy is to reduce the frequency of line jams and reduce bottles lost from such jams, hence increasing overall line efficiency.
