Connecticut Considers Glass Packaging Exemption

The Connecticut House of Representatives is considering legislation (HB 6803) proposed by the Connecticut Dept Environmental Protection to adopt the Toxics in Packaging Clearinghouse's (TPCH) glass exemption from its toxics in packaging legislation. TPCH extended indefinitely a glass exemption from its model bill banning the intentional addition of lead, cadmium and other metals to packaging; however, only three states have formally enacted the exemption.
