Computation Of Three-Dimensional Temperature And Convective Flow Profiles For An Electric Glass Furnace

A first attempt has been made to obtain a numerical solution of the the three-dimensional equations of energy and momentum transfer and heat generation in an electric glassmelting furnace. In view of thecomplexity of the problemthe calculations were limited to a consideration of the convective flow profiles produced by a given voltage within a 2.12 x 2.12 x 2.12 m space with rigid boundaries.
