Compressive Creep Of Fusion-Cast Alumina As A Function Of Microstructre

M-type fusion-cast alumina refractories are now being creep tested at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) as a function of stress, temperature and microstructre. Preliminary results indicate creep is related to variations in the microstructure of the as-cast refractory block.
