To Comply - Or Not To Comply

On 1 October the revised Building Regulations were implemented. The new, more stringent Approved Documents L and F demand that all windows are sold with either a Window Energy Rating of "C" or higher, or a u-value of 1.6W/m2K or better. In addition, doors are also affected. All doors must meet a 1.8W/m2K u-value. In the run up to the Regulations' final implementation, and indeed since, the debate has switched from how companies can achieve compliance to how they can prove their compliance. Both are still an issue, which is discussed in this article.
