[Combustion] Insulated Furnace Feed Walls

This article outlines how to make cost savings and increased energy efficiency by insulating a glass furnace. Since 1986, Merkle has been insulating Strut-Air walls with either 25 or 50mm insulation. As energy costs have increased, the use of 50mm insulation has become justifiable and Merkle has adopted this as its standard. Depending on current energy costs, the system can pay for itself in 9-18 months and save more than the entire wall's original cost over a full campaign.
