The Coater Production Management System

In modern architecture, stone or concrete walls are being replaced by glass more and more, giving buildings the impression of lightness and transparency. Variations of application according to design and construction needs are possible as today's coatings fit into any environmental conditions and offer optimum thermal performance. So it comes as no surprise that the demand for coated glass is constantly rising,a and consequently, coated glass production and research is increasing too. In this paper the author describes a new approach in handling technology for coated glass describing a Coater Production Management System which optimises the glass surface of the cut sizes being produced, based on a limited number of stock sizes, and determines the most favourable production sequence for the coater.
