Climate Change And Emissions To Air: Meeting The Uk Carbon Reduction Commitment

Defra published on 26 June 2007 a consultation on the detail of how the proposed UK Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) can best be implemented. Only organisations which have annual electricity consumption in excess of 6000MWh from mandatory half-hour meters will be included. Key issues raised in the consultation include: The proposed definition of a CRC organisation; Coverage of specific activities and emissions; Design of the auction and CRC league table; Monitoring, reporting, audit and penalties. The closing date for the submission of consultation responses is 9 October 2007.
