Clearly Inspired

Clearly Inspired: Contemporary Glass and Its Origins, by Karen S Chambers and Tina Oldknow, illustrates and contrasts the work of contemporary glass artists with examples of historical pieces. Its focus is on artists who use the glassworking techniques of antiquity, in some cases after having redicsovered or reinvented lost processes. The work of 20 artists are considered. Within the book there is an abundance of colour illustrative material and an informative text on the history of glassworking and on its 20th century conversion from craft to art.
