Different clarification processes of cooling water used in secondary glass manufacutring are compared. A most effective, economic treatment consists of the addition of a flocculant to accelerate sedimentation of suspended particles, the water clarification in a sedimentation basin and filtering of the slurries. This treatment makes clean cooling water available with marked advantages for manufacturing process quality and equipment maintenance.
