Chrome Refractory Disposal In The Usa

Back in 1990, the USA's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) added chrome bearing materials to its list of waste exhibiting toxicity. And effectively from May this year, the EPA has said that chrome bearing waste must be treated to make it non-hazardous prior to its disposal. Glass consultant C Philip Ross looks at the problems of treating this kind of waste and the solutions that have been proposed so far.
