China Challenges Us Arg Tariffs

The decision by the US Commerce Department to instigate anti-dumping duties on automotive replacement glass originating from a number of Chinese companies has predictably provoked a vociferous reaction from Sino-manufacturers that stand accused of being actively involved in the dumping process. In a press conference in Beijing, Fuyao Glass, China's leading maker of auto glass materials, put across these points: "Fuyao Glass (& US subsidiary Greenville Glass) have appealed to the US Court of Int Trade against the anti-dumping decision in February by the US Department of Commerce (DOC). The DOC ruled in favour of imposing anti-dumping duties of 11.8% on shipments to the USA. We express great regret & anger over DOC's decision & believe that this was made on unfair grounds. Fuyao does not receive any financial support from government."
