Chemical Effects Of Formamide And N,N-Dimethylformamide On The Formation Of Alkoxy-Derived Silica Gel

Silicon alkoxide solutions containing formamide or N,N-dimethylformamide, as well as ammonia catalysed and uncatalysed solutions were prepared using silicon methoxide as the starting material. The hydrolysis and polycondensaion reactions of silicon methoxide during the sol-gel transition were investigated.
